Dads have a voice. You deserve to be heard.

Separation can leave you feeling shut out of your children’s lives and overwhelmed by what comes next. Find understanding, shared experience and practical support from dads who know how difficult this journey can be.

Your voice matters. Your relationship with your children matters.

You’re not the only one

Does any of this feel familiar?

Many fathers describe experiences like these. Every family is different — if even one of them resonates, you’re welcome here.

  • Missing your children
  • Being left out of important decisions
  • Struggling to get your concerns heard
  • Facing overwhelming legal costs
  • Worrying about your children’s wellbeing
  • Feeling you have to carry it alone

If you or your children are in immediate danger, call 000. If you’re struggling and need to talk to someone now, MensLine Australia is available 24/7 on 1300 78 99 78 and Lifeline on 13 11 14.

Our purpose

A place to speak. A community that listens.

Dads Have a Voice is being built so fathers facing difficult family circumstances can find connection, speak honestly and support one another.

We believe dads can be heard with compassion while keeping children’s safety, wellbeing and relationships at the centre of the conversation.

Children benefit when safe, loving parents are supported to stay involved in their lives.

Community principles

How we look after each other

Be heard. Be respectful. Keep children at the centre.

  • Protect children’s privacy. Don’t share children’s names, photos, schools or other details that could identify them.
  • Keep it non-identifying. Don’t publish identifying details, private records, court documents or accusations about identifiable people.
  • No threats, harassment or naming and shaming. Strong feelings are welcome; hostility towards anyone is not.
  • Peer support isn’t professional advice. We share experience, not legal, medical or psychological advice. Please seek qualified help for your situation.

We’ll work hard to keep community spaces safe and moderated, but no online space can be completely private. Please share only what you’d be comfortable with others reading.
